Kids computers – does anyone know of a kids computer that has a decent sized screen ?
All of the ones I have looked at have very small screens which are black / grey in colour. Is it possible to get a computer for kids where the screen is large and the activities / games are in colour?
My son is 4 1/2 and wants one for christmas but I can’t find one that I believe is worth paying for.
You can’t buy a laptop with that budget, below $400, right? I bet the small one you mentioned is Acer Aspire One, which I guess cost around $350. A lower-end laptop with acceptable configuration and a 15 inch screen at least cost $450. The cheapest laptop with a 17 inch screen I could find is a $600 Compaq.

I really recommend you to buy a desktop and a monitor instead of a laptop if you are on a tight budget. It will be cheaper than a same priced laptop. Whatever you buy, you will need at least a dual core processor with 1.8GHz, and at least 2GB of RAM.
My advice: buy a good desktop around $600 and a $200 monitor. It is a good investment. Your son will learn how to utilize a computer instead of just playing with it. You can use it too, and consider it as a christmas present for yourself.
