If you’re patient, can define what you want (or need) and have a set budget you might be surprised at what you can get. It’s best to know these things before you jump into buying a laptop, since deals for what you want may not come around very often – and you have to be patient.
I got a $900-$1000 laptop for less than $600 using a limited coupon offer which has a dedicated GPU so it will play 3D games (which may not be a necessity for you). You normally cant get a dedicated GPU (much less the grade of GPU included in my laptop) in a laptop under $600.
